In Ukraine the collection of successful cases of free legal aid has been published
The Legal Aid Coordination Center of Ukraine has prepared a second collection of successful cases, which includes examples of free secondary legal aid provided by lawyers and attorneys who work with the free legal aid system in the field of family, labor, land, civil law, etc. You can find it here.
The Free Legal Aid system works to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to protect their rights. The extensive network of FLA centers has more than 500 access points and covers the entire territory of Ukraine.
From 2013 to September 2021, almost 4 million legal aid services were provided to Ukrainians. This is about 2.9 million consultations and clarifications on legal issues and more than 1 million cases of free secondary legal aid, which includes protection, representation of interests in courts, other state bodies, local governments, before other persons, as well as drafting procedural documents.
Free secondary legal aid can be used by persons with low income (not more than two subsistence minimums), participants in hostilities, internally displaced persons, victims of domestic violence, children and other categories of the population defined by the Law of Ukraine "On Free Legal Aid" (Article 14).
The FLA system has been providing legal assistance in criminal cases since 2013, and in civil and administrative cases since 2015. Most often, clients turn to issues of civil law and civil procedure (more than 609.6 thousand appeals), family law (477.2 thousand) and inheritance law (more than 308 thousand).
